UAF Community and Technical College’s Learning Center is seeking experienced Business and Accounting Tutors to enhance student success. You will provide high-quality tutoring in Accounting I, Payroll Accounting, Customer Service, and Supervision Fundamentals. This role supports both university and high school students, benefiting the Fairbanks community. Success in this role requires a strong grasp of business and accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to various learning styles.
As a Business and Accounting Tutor, you will play a key role in guiding students through complex business and accounting concepts. Your responsibilities will include providing one-on-one and group tutoring sessions, helping students navigate coursework and assignments, and using accounting software like QuickBooks to enhance their learning experience. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in business and accounting, and who excel in a tutoring or educational setting. Your ability to effectively communicate complex information and adapt to different learning needs will be essential to the impact you have on our students.
Candidates for the Business and Accounting Tutor position will be evaluated on their professional-level knowledge of business and accounting principles, their ability to effectively tutor students, and their proficiency in relevant software and computer systems. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with a diverse student population are essential. This part-time position offers a flexible schedule, including online tutoring options. Successful candidates will have 6 months to 3 years of relevant classroom or tutorial experience, or equivalent. Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, although a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Position Details:
This is a part time position with flexible hours. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Temporary Salary Schedule, Grade 77, step 1.
