UAA's Aviation Technology Division, Aircraft Triage/Maintenance Department is accepting applications for Aircraft Ramp Assistants. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply!

The primary purpose of these part-time, student Ramper position(s) is to assist in the day-to-day operations of the department in the performance of (but not limited to) the following tasks:

Performing ramp services such as aircraft detailing and cleaning, sweeping, snow removal, servicing tie downs, and performing other tasks as assigned in an effort to reduced potential damage hazards to training aircraft.

Assisting with aircraft movement in and out of maintenance hangar, the aircraft ramp areas, assisting with aircraft tie downs and covering daily to ensure safety and security and limit damage risk to aircraft.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Actively pursuing an aviation-related degree.

Introductory Ground Operations and Safety Course or combination training and experience.

To be eligible for student employment, an applicant must:
a. Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment;
or
b. Have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters;
and
c. Have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or approval from the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs or their designee.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Aviation Technology Complex at Merrill Field Airport in Anchorage, AK. Pay is $15.57/hour. Candidates will be scheduled up to 20 hours per week during the academic year while classes are in session and up to 40 hours per week during the summer. 

This recruitment is open to undergraduate students only.
