The UAF College of Indigenous studies, Interior Alaska Campus (IAC) - a campus serving 52 villages and rural communities in Interior Alaska - is looking for an organized, self-starter to fill the role of Assistant to the Director. This position supports the campus Director, as well as the close knit departments based at this campus.

As Assistant to the Director, you will join a hardworking team whose primary goal is to provide accessible education to Alaska Native & other rural communities across Interior Alaska. The Assistant provides critical, day-to-day support to the Director, including managing and tracking their schedule, projects, and campus correspondence. This role also supports other IAC departments in the form of communications, marketing, and building management. In short, the Assistant ensures that the backend administrative duties of the campus run smoothly so that our programs and our students have the chance to shine.

To thrive in this role, initiative, organization, and time management skills are essential. You must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with a diverse group of people, both internal and external. Adaptability and flexibility are also key, as procedures, policies, and priorities can change without warning. Additionally, proficient computer skills, primarily in Google suite applications, will serve you well in this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with Native and rural issues/ organizations and state agencies.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Interior Alaska campus in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.
