Through flexible course delivery methods, the Early Childhood and Family Studies Bachelor of Arts program provides preparation for early childhood professionals with the goal to advance their knowledge and career opportunities. You will meet students who live in both rural and urban areas of Alaska and beyond as you support their knowledge growth around developmentally appropriate practice that embraces both family and community.

Applicants with advanced knowledge and proficiency in early childhood education, curriculum design and assessment, strong communication skills and the capacity to mentor and guide future early childhood professionals are key to the role.

Minimum Qualifications:

Early childhood educator in a birth-five setting such as preschool or Headstart and/or P-3 grade public school setting. 

Post-secondary full- or part-time instructor. 

Graduate degree in Early Childhood Education Preferred. Graduate degree in related field, Educational Leadership, or a closely related field accepted. 

ABD considered completion by the time of appointment.

At least three (3) years of successful experience in an early childhood environment.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Fairbanks, and flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. Must be based in a non-geographical location. This is a 9-month (full-time), tenure-track faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. Salary is based on education and experience.
