The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is seeking qualified individuals to fill a full-time, tenure-track, faculty position starting fall semester 2026. UAA’s Construction Management program is part of the Building Technologies Division housed within the University’s Community & Technical College. The Construction Management program is fully accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE) and enjoys strong community and professional support.

To thrive in this role, the candidate will have experience in online course development and teaching experience. Demonstrated experience with community business outreach. Ability to teach department courses identified with content knowledge in construction supervision, project management/scheduling, building codes, site surveying, architecture, civil engineering concepts, commercial construction techniques and understanding of steel and concrete structures. Ability to integrate appropriate computer technology including building information modeling (BIM), and construction scheduling/job control software into the curriculum. Ability to integrate sustainable building principles into the curriculum. Familiarity with circumpolar construction conditions. Commitment to excellence in teaching, demonstrated teaching experience appropriate to the level of appointment, and evidence of scholarly/creative activity. Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, peers in the profession and community. A comprehensive knowledge of the construction process, procedures, project controls, and industry, all as required to teach the courses listed.

Minimum eight (8) years of experience in Construction Management or a construction-related position. Experience with circumpolar construction conditions and techniques. Minimum of two (2) semesters of teaching experience at the college level or equivalent.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Requires a Master’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil or Structural Engineering, Architecture, a 5-year professional degree in Architecture, or a Master’s degree in a related discipline.
OR
A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Civil Engineering with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the construction industry. Of this experience a minimum of four (4) years must be in a position of responsible charge as a construction or project manager.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska Anchorage in Anchorage, Alaska. This is a full-time, tenure-track position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
