The Assistant Professor of Business Analytics and AI is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position in the Management, Marketing, Logistics, and Business Analytics Department at the University of Alaska Anchorage. This role includes responsibilities in (1) teaching, (2) research, and (3) providing professional service to the university, the profession/discipline, and the community. The standard teaching load is three courses per semester, beginning in August 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in subjects such as Business Analytics, Data Science, and AI.

A successful candidate should have expertise in teaching and research within business analytics, AI, and data science fields. The candidate should be capable of teaching advanced concepts and have a strong foundation in relevant technical skills, paired with effective teaching and communication abilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science, or Machine Learning is required.
A Ph.D. in related fields such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Management/Research, or Industrial Engineering will also be considered if applicant has completed relevant coursework and/or has relevant industry experience.
ABD applicants will be considered if their expected degree completion date is no later than August 1, 2025.
A Ph.D. in business must be from an AACSB accredited institution. Non-business Ph.D. degree must be from an institution whose business program is accredited by AACSB or from a program accredited by an association comparable to AACSB (e.g., ABET).
Preferred Experience:
Relevant industry experience in Business Analytics, AI, Data Science, or related fields.
Completion of relevant coursework in Business Analytics, AI, Data Science, or related fields.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus in Anchorage, Alaska. Applicants must be able to relocate to Anchorage, Alaska by the position start date. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure track, faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
