The Student Engagement department seeks a dynamic individual to lead the Student Activities program. If you are interested, we invite you to apply!

Our programs encompass civic responsibility, community development, and social engagement. The Assistant Director of Student Activities provides the foundation for ongoing UAA co-curricular programs and works with student staff to provide programming to UAA students and the campus community.

A successful applicant must be passionate about teaching, training, supervising, and motivating student staff. The applicant must have an interest in civic engagement and cultural programming. The successful individual must maintain a professional standard for all event productions, have the ability to problem-solve under pressure, and professionally manage unexpected circumstances such as equipment failures, travel delays or cancellations, and audience emergencies. The successful individual must be a professional representative of UAA to students and the campus community, and to a wide range of professional and business organizations both in Alaska and throughout the nation. The successful individual must also be available to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and extended hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three years of progressively responsible relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Details:

This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 80, based on education and experience.

A valid Alaska Driver's License and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria.
