Come join an award-winning program at ANSEP. We are recruiting for an ANSEP Director position to serve our new Acceleration Academy Site in Nome. This newly created position will work with our various components and will develop the skills necessary to take on additional leadership roles at ANSEP.

Our ANSEP Acceleration Academy is a dual enrollment program in Nome (based at Nome-Beltz High School) that supports 9th-12th grade students who are working to earn college credits before they graduate from high school. The Acceleration Academy is a five day a week school day program that brings together high school students to earn college credits, participate in guided study sessions and extracurricular activities.

The Site Director provides leadership and comprehensive management for all facets of the program including the academic well-being and achievement of students, professional growth and performance of staff, efficient operation of the program’s resources and facilities, and the cultivation of a positive and safe learning environment through effective communication and community engagement. They also support students through guidance and discipline, ensure safety and compliance, risk management, engage with the community, recruit students, foster a positive program culture, and collaborate across different Acceleration program sites.

To excel in this position, the candidate should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills as they will be communicating consistently with staff, students and parents. They should have strong curriculum design and implementation skills. They should have strong conflict resolution and behavior management skills as they will work with high school students. The candidate should be able to establish and maintain strong working relationships with coworkers, ANSEP leadership, Nome Public Schools and also maintain clear, professional boundaries with students. They should have the ability to interpret and apply policies and respond in emergency situations to serve as a first responder to incidents, accidents, and emergencies. The candidate will also be a responsible employee under Title IX and be required to stay current with annual training.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and five years progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Masters preferred. At least three years of management experience in a school or youth development program
Current CPR with AED/First Aid certification preferred.

Position may require driving an ANSEP vehicle. Applicant must be 21 and older to apply and have a valid AK driver's license with three years of a driving record on a valid driver's license

Position Details:

This position is located on the Nome-Beltz High School campus in Nome, Alaska. This is a full-time, term-funded, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 81 with a 34% geographic pay differential, based on education and experience.
