The Alaska MEP Sales Manager will serve as a leader and critical thinker, ready to solve problems and make decisions with minimal supervisory input. The successful candidate will possess strong sales and project management skills; knowledge of project development, implementation, and tracking; performance measurement; and client and contractor management. The successful candidate will be responsible for $100,000 in sales annually. The candidate must possess strong writing and oral communication or public speaking skills, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and work efficiently and effectively in independent and collaborative situations. Preference will be given to individuals with Lean Six Sigma green belt certification, project management, and prior sales experience.

The successful candidate will encompass the following skills and abilities: 

● Aptitude for identifying client challenges and selling them solutions;
● Ability to decipher the common needs of manufacturers to aid them in achieving common goals;
● Ability to relate well to support staff, faculty, senior executives, and contracting professionals;
● Good judgment, tact, and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters;
● Excellent organizational and leadership skills with the ability to work under time pressures, multiple simultaneous demands, multiple stakeholders while maintaining excellent attention to details;
● Advanced knowledge of social media best practices, and an ability to formulate and implement social media strategies;
● Project negotiation, sales closing, management, and implementation skills;
● Basic knowledge of google apps products; and
● Excellent written communications required, including intermediate to advanced computer skills, utilizing Microsoft Office programs, e.g., MS Office, PowerPoint, and Internet applications.

To thrive in this role, the ideal applicant will be internally driven and will have both external sales and administrative experience. The applicant will excel at forming relationships and determining potential needs to match manufacturing clients with services and training to help them develop and grow their businesses.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience and/or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Master’s degree preferred.

Position Details:

This position is located on the UAA campus in Anchorage. This is a full-time, term-funded, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
