Help organizations use artificial intelligence to address challenges in Alaska! We are excited to announce an opening for the part-time position of AI Community Partner Coordinator at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) for the Rural AI Solutions and Engagement project funded by the National Science Foundation.

The AI Community Partner Coordinator will help build partnerships between UAA and the Alaska community around the use of AI to solve Alaskan challenges. This three year project seeks to create partnerships to grow programs in workforce development, use-inspired research and development, and grow capacity in Artificial Intelligence at UAA. We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who enjoys communicating with and building connections with multiple organizations to coordinate activities, meetings, workshops, and projects relating to AI. Duties include coordinating and planning activities for the Alaska AI Solutions Consortium (AASC), assisting PIs and Co-Is in implementation and tracking of faculty mini-grants, faculty development activities, coordination with partnership university. Additionally, the position will assist the AASC and OC Director in marketing efforts and in finding potential commercialization partners. This is a 12-month, non-exempt, part-time position.

To thrive in this role, the candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills that help develop strong professional relationships and partnerships in industry, government, education, and non-profit sectors. A collaborative mindsight that allows you to work effectively with multiple teams as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to craft clear, engaging, and error-free content for various platforms and audiences is invaluable. Candidates should be able to demonstrate proficiency in articulating ideas clearly, along with active listening skills to understand and address communication needs; possess strong organizational and time management skills to effectively handle multiple tasks and deadlines while showing attention to detail and be proficient in digital tools including: MS Office Suite, Website CMS platforms, Google Suite, media creation, and social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree and two years experience related to communications or coordinating teams, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree and two years experience related to communications or coordinating teams, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Details:

This position is located on the UAA campus in Anchorage, and flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a term funded, part-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.

A valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria is required.
