The Office of Admissions is hiring an Admissions Clerk! This position is the primary point of contact for students, the public, and internal stakeholders to establish positive college relationships. The Office of Admissions is a fast-paced office that welcomes a wide variety of students, staff, faculty, and their families to the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Our office is dynamic, fun, and collaborative. The admissions clerk is a core part of our team and functions as the initial point of contact for UAF for hundreds of individuals every month. The responsibilities of this position include customer service, administrative support, and application processing.

Knowledge of customer service best practices and procedures. Ability to prepare various correspondence and effectively provide verbal and written communication to prospective students, community members, staff, faculty and administrators. Analytical research and problem solving skills

One-two years’ experience providing professional level customer service is required for this position. Experience should have prepared candidates to provide excellent customer service, make sound judgment calls, analyze and solve problems, and deal with large volumes of inquiries.

Minimum Qualifications:

One year college coursework in a related field and one year relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

One year of education at a university or community college.

Position Details:

This is a full-time, term-funded,  non-exempt staff position with a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental, and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 76, based on education and experience.
