The Administrative Assistant is a critical position supporting CTC programs by providing students with a positive student experience in their pursuit of their educational goals. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with people from diverse academic, cultural, and economic backgrounds. You will utilize your exemplary customer care and organizational skills to provide academic program support, student support, records management, and outreach.
To thrive in this role, you must have exceptional interpersonal skills, including active listening abilities. Sound judgment and discretion, as well as excellent communication and strong collaborative skills are essential in this position. The successful candidate will also be competent in the use of computers, as demonstrated by their experience using spreadsheets, word processing, learning management systems, proprietary software and the like. You will work independently and as a member of a larger, collaborative team to make sure students succeed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Educational/vocational experience in subject area sufficient to perform the typical duties as required for the position; including high school graduation or the equivalent. At least one year of prior office experience, or the combination of experience and college level courses in a related business field, i.e. business, office management, administrative assisting, is also preferred.
Position Details:
We will be filling three vacancies from this recruitment, all located on-site within our offices on the Community and Technical College in Fairbanks. These are full-time, non-exempt staff positions, ranging from 10 to 12-months per year. Each position is complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
