Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Program Manager to lead our Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) projects. This role will involve managing the full lifecycle of UAS programs, from concept through development and deployment, ensuring that all project objectives are met on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. You will work closely with engineering, production, and operational teams, as well as key stakeholders, to drive the successful execution of complex UAS programs.

A Program Manager for Unmanned Aircraft is responsible for overseeing the development, deployment, and operational success of unmanned aerial systems (UAS). This role involves managing cross-functional teams, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring that projects meet technical, budgetary, and timeline goals. The Program Manager leads efforts in system integration, regulatory compliance, testing, and risk management, while also addressing customer requirements and adapting to evolving technologies. By providing strategic direction and fostering innovation, the Program Manager ensures that unmanned aircraft programs deliver high-performance solutions in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

To thrive as a Program Manager for Unmanned Aircraft, it is essential to combine strong leadership with a deep understanding of both aerospace engineering and unmanned systems technology. Success in this role requires excellent communication skills to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage stakeholder expectations, and navigate complex regulatory and compliance landscapes. A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset is key to overcoming technical challenges, mitigating risks, and ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget. Minimum Qualifications:

-A Master’s degree in project management or a related field and 5 years experience in project management for the US government or state agency, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks Alaska.  This is a full-time, term-funded, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 82, based on education and experience.
