Kenai Peninsula College is seeking a dedicated Academic Advisor for our Soldotna campus. This role plays a central part in helping students thrive at KPC, part of the University of Alaska Anchorage

As an Academic Advisor, you will provide personalized, proactive guidance to students across a wide range of degree programs. You’ll work closely with them to explore academic options, create meaningful degree plans, and align their coursework with their personal and career goals. By regularly monitoring progress, offering timely outreach—especially to students who may need extra support—and connecting individuals to campus resources, you’ll help ensure they stay on track toward graduation.

In this position, you’ll serve as a strong advocate for students, collaborating with faculty, staff, and support services to address their unique needs in our rural Alaska community. Particular attention is given to supporting Alaska Native students and others who bring diverse cultural and economic backgrounds to our campus.

We’re looking for someone with genuine passion for student success and higher education, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to build trusting, supportive relationships with a wide variety of people.

Experience in academic advising—including degree planning and proactive outreach to at-risk students—is highly valued, as is comfort working with university systems such as Banner, DegreeWorks, and EAB Navigate. You should be well-organized, able to work independently when needed, and comfortable navigating complex policies in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

If you’re energized by the idea of making a real difference in students’ lives within a welcoming, close-knit college setting in beautiful rural Alaska, we’d love to hear from you.
