Assistant Professor of Secondary Education Juneau
The University of Alaska Southeast’s School of Education invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in Secondary Education to complement existing expertise and contribute to our program. This position will begin with the 2023- 2024 academic year. Our Secondary Education Program prepares candidates for initial licensure through a graduate certificate program and a Master of Arts in Teaching Program. Both programs are offered online via distance delivery. We seek a faculty member with demonstrated potential for creative teaching in a virtual environment as well as for virtual and on-site clinical supervision. The University of Alaska Southeast’s School of Education values collaborative scholarship among colleagues. The person in this position will be expected to work with colleagues to teach current and new graduate courses in secondary education, engage in clinical supervision across the state, establish strong ties with colleagues in and across the college and university, including secondary education faculty and administrators in local school districts, and participate in department, college, and professional service activities. The candidate will also be expected to work with colleagues to help ensure continuing program and unit accreditation and to serve students coming from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Temporary Reference Librarian AY 2022-2023 Juneau
The Egan library, University of Alaska Southeast, is seeking a part-time reference librarian to cover evening and weekend desk shifts. As a reference librarian, you will provide reference services and specialized research guidance for student, faculty, staff, and public users of an academic library utilizing online databases, the Internet, the Alaska Library Catalog, and print resources. Temporary Reference Librarians also participate in collection development (evaluation and assessment of current collections and potential additions) and the creation of print and online instruction materials (such as library research guides and curated displays). To be successful in this position, applicants should have knowledge and skill in the principles and practices of librarianship, as well as demonstrated ability to handle both basic and complex reference inquiries in person, over the phone, and via online chat and email; communicate effectively with library patrons; troubleshoot and assist patrons with technology; and work with minimum supervision. Experience providing reference service in a library is preferred. This is a temporary, part-time position for weekend and evening hours.
