ASF IT Manager Fairbanks
The Alaska Satellite Facility (ASF) of the Geophysical Institute (GI) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), is seeking an IT Operations Manager with Agile and/or Lean experience to manage and lead our IT operations, both on-premises and in the AWS cloud environment. The ideal candidate will have experience leading a group of system administrators, operators, and help desk staff, with a focus on operations, security, and functional improvements. ASF downlinks, processes, archives, and distributes remote-sensing data to scientific users around the world. ASF's overarching mission is to make remote-sensing data accessible. This has many aspects, including promoting, facilitating, and participating in the advancement of remote sensing in order to support national and international Earth science research, field operations, and commercial remote-sensing applications that benefit society. Finance Officer - CES/AFES Fairbanks
As our Finance Officer for Cooperative Extension Service and Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station, you will handle the management of the Federal Formula funds/Capacity grants for CES and AFES and required match funding. You will use your analytic skills to review reports, monitor general accounts, develop financial calculations based on university and Federal regulations and unique operational activities, and conduct a myriad of other job functions such as grants, budget projections and preparing financial reports. You will be directly linked to customers, helping them solve routine and complex financial processes and will be challenged to use your talents in the financial arena and deliver innovative and agile solutions in support of the CES/AFES mission.

Cryospheric Field Technician Fairbanks
The Snow-Ice-Permafrost Group (SIP) at the GI is recruiting a part-time field and instrument technician. The SIP Group is 40 people working on exciting research on snow, glaciers and other cryospheric phenomena. The successful candidate will have a chance to work in Arctic Alaska on state-of-the-art scientific weather and climate equipment and to make unique measurements of snow and precipitation. The work will be based in Fairbanks, Barrow and Prudhoe Bay and will have a flexible schedule. The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated group that works in unique locations doing world class research. The Snow, Ice, and Permafrost department conducts cutting edge research on snow and snow cover, making contributions to world-wide understanding of climate change. Specifically, we are trying to understand how to better measure winter precipitation across the Arctic. We work with unique arrays of automatic instruments to do this work. The successful applicant will not only contribute to global climate change work but also learn and operate unique data loggers, sensors and computer instrumentation while collaborating with students, other technicians and dedicated cryospheric scientists at a world-class research institute. The successful candidate can expect to perform about 5 visits to the NSA Barrow (Utqiagvik) and Oliktok sites per year. Storage and Linux Systems Analyst - Research Computing Systems Fairbanks
Research Computing Systems (RCS), in the UAF Geophysical Institute, is looking for an experienced Linux Systems Administrator or Storage Engineer to join our team of research cyberinfrastructure analysts and engineers. We are a dynamic group of IT professionals supporting a core set of cyberinfrastructure services for a wide variety of UA research projects, as well as developing and maintaining specific systems for researchers. RCS team members work together and independently to ensure UAF researchers have high performing and adaptable network, storage, compute, web, and hosted systems services they can depend on to conduct their research. The successful candidate will work with team members to support and enhance a multi-petabyte network of Linux servers and disk arrays, a multi-petabyte tape library, a Versity based HSM, and Lustre based parallel filesystems. We have a very flexible office environment and collaborate with multiple groups throughout the GI and within UA’s Office of Information Technology.

Term Assistant Professor of Fisheries Technology Sitka
The University of Alaska Southeast Fisheries Technology Program is accepting applications for a Term Assistant Professor of Fisheries Technology. We are looking for qualified applicants interested in joining an exciting and dynamic team striving to deliver applied fisheries education across Alaska and the Nation. As a member of our program, you will work closely with the Fisheries Technology program manager, UAS faculty and staff, State and Federal agency personnel, students and other fisheries related business owners, operators, and managers.
