Crafts & Trades III (CT3) Fire Systems Technician
UAA - Crafts & Trades III (CT3) Fire Systems Technician: This position will be responsible for: repair, maintain and troubleshoot the campus fire detection systems, security systems and fire suppression systems following all applicable codes, utilizing contractors as needed. Work with the Anchorage Fire Department personnel to meet local requirements. Maintain the fire systems critical spare parts inventory. Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, calibrate or overhaul all types of electrical and mechanical systems. General duties include maintenance on emergency generators, building lighting and utility locates. Assist other departments such as Facilities Planning and Construction, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanical as requested. May oversee other crafts/trades in the maintenance, troubleshooting or repair of complex equipment. May be required to act as a Lead and provide training for other bargaining unit members. Utilize computerized building control system to operate and monitor equipment. Subject to call in after normal working hours to respond to emergencies and work a flexible schedule as needed to complete projects.
