Dean, Community & Technical College
The Community and Technical College (CTC) is a large and diverse college of the University of Alaska Anchorage. The CTC Office of the Dean administers 5 academic divisions, plus 3 academic departments. The Dean provides curricular and programmatic oversight of career and technical programs at the UAA Community Campuses in collaboration with their Directors and faculty. Full-time (regular) college personnel number approximately 100 faculty and staff. The CTC delivers instruction through more than 20 programs ranging from occupational endorsement certificates to bachelor’s degrees. Planetary Seismology Postdoctoral Fellow
The Geophysical Institute at the University of Alaska Fairbanks has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral researcher in the field of planetary seismology. The new hire will engage in a project to establish likely bounds on the nature and amount of seismic activity on Venus, assemble a catalog of potential Venus-analog events using records from a variety of traditional and non-traditional seismic sources recorded in Alaska and elsewhere, and use the catalog to evaluate the viability of potential instrument designs and analysis algorithms for an eventual seismograph on Venus. This is a one-year project, but the expectation is that a strong performer could transition into a multi-year position within the GI conducting a TBD mix of terrestrial and planetary seismology. We are planning to hire as soon as possible in order to meet grant requirements.

CT1 Alarms Technician
This is a union represented position. The CT1 Alarms Technician works in cooperation with other Crafts & Trades personnel to support the successful operations of the general services provided by Facilities Services Division of Maintenance.
