Post Doctoral Fellow
The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks is seeking applications for a two to three-year Post-Doctoral Fellow in nearshore marine ecology. AERC Sr. Research Technician

The Applied Environmental Research Center (AERC) is currently seeking a research technician to join our team. AERC and Center for Strategic Partnerships and Research (CSPR) are centers of the UAA Business Enterprise Institute (BEI). The BEI provides a platform for high-level consultancy between industry and the University of Alaska (UA), while serving as a bridge to resources, expertise and talents across the entire UA system. The AERC mission is to collect, analyze and apply environmental, natural and cultural resource data for optimal management of public lands. Projects of the AERC span between Alaska, Hawai’i, Japan, Korea and the Pacific Islands. In the future, we anticipate serving other strategic locations as well as expanding services to other public land-owners.
The primary client of the AERC is the US Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District. Primary clients of CSPR vary, but in all cases include non-department of defense contracts. Core to the mission of AERC and CSPR is to tap talent across the entire UA system. All work of the AERC and CSPR is via task orders or contracts. Principal responsibility is taking a lead student role in input and metadata tasks to augment an existing bibliographic database. Incumbent will apply existing rules for description of reports, books, and articles by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service agency authors, under a grant-funded project. Under the direction of the ARLIS Technical Services Coordinator, the incumbent will work to maximize output in the project time frame. This is a two-year project that is dependent on funding.

Other duties may include boxing, unboxing or sorting library materials; checking for duplicates; shelving and shifting of materials using Library of Congress call number systems; putting items in date or alphabetical order; assisting in database cleanup; filing; photocopying; printing from microfiche; scanning microfiche, and microfilm; recycling; retrieving items from shelves and other duties as assigned.
Full-Time MSW3 Shuttle Bus Driver
UAF is looking for a full-time shuttle bus driver for our on-campus shuttle bus system. This is a union represented position. Shuttle driver may be tasked with other duties as assigned. Under supervision, may routinely perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and light construction duties in a combination of several trades or crafts such as plumbing; carpentry; painting; landscape and agricultural installation and maintenance; light construction; and equipment maintenance.
