Position Summary:

We are a destination of choice for 2000 students across three campuses in Southeast Alaska, with online and in-person programs. The Associate Director of Equity & Compliance position is responsible for assisting the Director of Equity & Compliance in:
(1) Title IX complaints and investigations and VAWA compliance. This position will serve as the Deputy Title IX Coordinator and lead investigations in sex and gender-based harassment and discrimination. This position participates in collaborative and coordinated efforts in University-wide policy development, monitoring, complaint processes, consulting, education and outreach, and information and reporting.
(2) Civil Rights complaints and investigations. This position will serve as the Lead Civil Rights Investigator for complaints alleging violations of Title VI, Title VII, FMLA, ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, as well as relevant University Policies on discrimination. This position provides leadership and expertise on matters of discrimination impacting faculty, staff, students, student employees, and members of the public throughout Southeast Alaska.
(3) Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Crime Statistics Act compliance. This position will serve as the Assistant Clery Act Compliance Coordinator. This position provides direct support for the Director of Equity & Compliance in the annual Security and Fire Safety Report and assists in determining reportable Clery Crimes per federal law. The Assistant Clery Compliance Coordinator is a professional resource for all laws and regulations outlined in the federal Clery Act.
(4) Protection of Minors. This position will assist in registering and tracking programs, events, and activities provided or endorsed by the University that involve participation by minors.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in related field and three years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Academic degrees in the following fields are preferred: Higher Education policy, Social Justice/Equity, Student Affairs, Human Resources, Law, Justice, Counseling, Social Work or a discipline closely related to these.
Position Details:
This position is located on the Juneau campus in Southeast Alaska.. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, Grade 80, based on education and experience.
Must have an Alaska Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire.
