Position Summary:
Come work with us in Juneau! As the A&S administrative operations coordinator, you'll join an inclusive, collaborative, and fun community of faculty members, students, and staff. In this role, you'll communicate and interact with a diverse group of people; respond to inquiries from faculty, staff, students, and the general public. Position is an in-person role. Not eligible for remote work.
The school of Arts & Sciences is seeking to fill an administrative operations coordinator position at our Auke Bay campus. As the operations coordinator will oversee the operations of the UAS oceanside science buildings, Anderson and Áak'w Tá Hít. The administrative operations coordinator will work closely with the A&S administrative officer on HR matters pertaining to permanent/term staff and students as well as adjunct faculty. The operations coordinator will also monitor and track course fee budgets and project budgets within the School of Arts and Sciences, will supervise all student employees, and will participate as a member of the A&S administrative team.
To thrive in this role you will need the ability to manage multiple projects, must be highly organized and self-motivated, and possess time management and problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize projects and work flow and make decisions using independent judgment.
You will need advanced knowledge and understanding of computer systems, Banner or similar databases, Excel, and Word and
Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal. With these skills we will expect you to have the technical capacity and expertise to create and use charts, tables, graphs, spreadsheets, and databases
Exceptional attention to detail is a must as well as the ability to ability to interpret information to determine placement. This position requires high level of independence, advanced problem-solving skills, and ability to make good decisions in tight timelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience
Possession of valid Alaska Driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire.
Position Details:
This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.
