The Department of Psychology at the University of Alaska Fairbanks invites applicants for a tripartite (teaching/research/service) tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level with an anticipated start date of August 2024. This position entails the typical tripartite responsibilities of teaching, research and service. Teaching in our program involves both traditional in-person courses as well as highly interactive online courses. Faculty in our department teach across several disciplines within psychology and need multicultural proficiency. For this position, we are looking for someone with expertise in statistics and research methods, as well as a background in behavioral or mental health psychology (i.e., clinical, counseling, or related). We are particularly interested in candidates with experience or interest in working with diverse populations, such as Indigenous peoples.
The UAF Psychology Department is a dynamic group of faculty with a commitment to multicultural perspectives which places a high priority on creating an environment supportive of the promotion of ethnic minorities, women, and persons with disabilities. Our undergraduate program is one of the largest at UAF, a small research university. Our program offers a growing online undergraduate degree program. Our department's mission is centered on health and well-being, with a particular focus on culture (especially Indigenous cultures) and rural populations. The successful applicant must hold a Doctoral degree in Psychology at the time of appointment (ABD minimum at the time of application submission). They must have experience teaching undergraduate Psychology courses as the instructor of record, developing and teaching interactive online courses and face-to-face courses across multiple areas of Psychology. They must have experience mentoring undergraduate students and using instructional technologies in instruction. They must have an interest and/or experience in working with diverse populations and expertise in statistics, research methods, and behavioral or mental health psychology (i.e., clinical, counseling, or related).
This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks, Alaska. This is a full-time, faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
