The Alaska Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) /APEX Accelerator, is hiring a Contract Specialist.. Areas of technical assistance provided include government database registrations such as SAM, evaluating business readiness and contracting potential, identifying prime and subcontract opportunities and advice on marketing strategies.

The Contract Specialist will be responsible for assisting new and existing Alaska businesses navigate the ins and outs of federal, state, and local contracting opportunities.
To thrive in this role you should have a minimum of 2 years progressive acquisition experience, with special emphasis on government contracts. Practical experience in government contracting procedures at the federal, state, and local level. Knowledge of, or experience with, small business. Proficiency and experience in public speaking, educational material development and operation of computers. You should be comfortable presenting workshops, webinars and participating in resource partner collaborations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of college coursework and three years of progressively responsible experience related to the program specialty or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience is required in order to have the knowledge necessary to perform job functions in a satisfactory manner.
Position Details:
This position can be hybrid and off campus. The employee must reside in Alaska. This is a full-time, term-funded, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
