Position Summary:

The College of Business & Public Policy's Dean's Office at the University of Anchorage provides a wide range of services to its students, faculty and to the Anchorage and Alaska business communities.

Duties:

100%Maintain a professional environment and provide excellent customer service while serving as first point of contact, both on telephone and in person. Assist current/prospective students, faculty, staff and the public by: answering general questions and specific questions or referring to appropriate. Open and distribute mail as needed. Assist with special projects as needed.Essential
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Candidate must have customer service skills with the ability to multitask and complete projects by their given deadline. Professional telephone skills; the ability to follow instructions; work independently; the ability to maintain confidentiality; and deliver good verbal and written communication skills which include good grammar and spelling. The ability to organize and prioritize fluctuating workloads; have experience in general office procedures, practices and equipment; work independently to follow up and respond to changing priorities is essential with computer-based word processing, spreadsheet applications, and electronic mail software; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Experience & Education:
To be eligible for student employment an applicant must:
A. Be enrolled in the UAA system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment or
B. Have been enrolled in the presiding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters and
C. Have at least a 2.5 (GPA) or approval from the MAU senior student services officer or his/her designee.

Salary Information: This is a part-time position with up to 20 hours a week while school is in session. Additional hours may be available during the summer and winter breaks. Starting salary is $15.26 per hour, or depending on experience.
