UAS Facilities Services is seeking a General Maintenance Mechanic.

Under general supervision, this position performs a variety of routine carpentry-related maintenance, repair, construction, and alterations associated with UAS buildings and facilities.  

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Must possess proficient knowledge in the carpentry trade, including the safe operation of basic hand and power tools and safety practices in the workplace.

Preferred Experience & Education:
Consideration will be given for certificates, licenses and training in other building trades as well. Snow removal experience preferred.

Required Experience & Education:

At least apprentice level certification or other equivalent evidence appropriate to the carpentry trade; with a minimum of five years related experience in commercial and/or residential carpentry, and/or; an equivalent combination.
Must posses proficient knowledge in the carpentry trade, including the safe operation of basic hand and power tools and safety practices in the work place.


Valid Alaska Driver's License, with acceptable driving record per UA Safe Driving Criteria.

Salary Information:

This is a full-time, non-exempt, represented staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package

Salary Information: Starting at CT1 /Step 1 $23.48/hr.  (See Article 9.2 in the L6070 Collective Bargaining Agreement, Wage Grade Schedule - http://www.alaska.edu/labor/local-6070/ ).
