Position Summary:
UAS is looking for a self-motivated individual interested in supporting information technology users and systems. Do you have a positive attitude and an inclination toward superior customer service? If so, this is an excellent opportunity to assist campus users, work with computers, software, data networks, and telephone systems. This is a full time temporary position in the Information Technology Services Department.
Duties:
10Stays current on latest technological trends, advancements, changes, and best practices.Essential
15Develop, write, and edit computer-related technical and administrative documentation and publications.
Monitor knowledge base and work order system; update work histories and closure records.Essential
75Provides support for technology needs in the campus computing environment including troubleshooting problems and identifying solutions.
Operates a variety of media/IT equipment, terminals, printers, consoles or other peripheral devices, reviewing and analyzing job requests, determining production requirements, conferring with users, monitoring jobs in process, identifying problems, initiating corrective actions.
Confers with and trains users or reviews requests for services or other information to identify requirements for information services.
Coordinates with operations or applications staff, contractors, or vendors as needed to provide required services or support and
recommends technology solutions.
This position provides support for telephone moves, adds, and changes, as well as telephone service troubleshooting.Essential
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: |
Customer service experience is required. Ability to troubleshoot, repair, install and update wiring, computer software, and hardware.
Special Skills: Must be able to lift or move 70 lbs above head for equipment installation purposes and be able to crawl into constrained spaces.
Preferred knowledge/skills/abilities: Applicants should have excellent analytical and communication skills. Professional experience supporting computer hardware and software in a networked environment is desired. Experience with IP telephony is desired. |
Preferred Experience & Education: |
Experience with computer systems, network, and audio/video operations. Experience with technology support, or a combination of training and experience.

Required Experience & Education: |
On-the-job training will be provided by IT staff.

Salary Information: |
This is a temporary position with a minimum pay of $20.47 per hour. Approximate hours are 30 hours per week.
