Position Summary:

This is a temporary labor pool for the UAS IT Services department. This position is for applicants with limited previous experience, but relative skills in customer support. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and filled as positions become available. Starting hourly rate is Temp Grade 77, Step 1 ($20.47).

Duties:

1-75Provide initial technical support and information.Essential
2-10Create electronic and printed materials designed to support the users of technical services. Coordinate, design, and deliver formal and ad-hoc training; prepare training schedule and provide reports to managers and campus community.Non-Essential
3-10Act as a customer service advocate to departmental staff and other service providers. Identify recurring and potential operational problems. Recommend procedures/controls for problem prevention and service improvement. Investigate alternative methods to expedite problem resolution.Essential
5Provide complete, accurate, and timely reporting of call-center activities.Essential
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Demonstrated general working knowledge of available services or products, data processing functions, computer operating systems, system analysis, communications networks and/or experience in operating a variety of personal computers and equipment.
  • Knowledge of computer security protocols and procedures.
  • Customer/client service and consulting skills.
  • Ability to gather, organize and present data, to communicate effectively, and to establish and maintain effective working relations.
  • Ability to translate user terminology to and from management information systems terminology.

Required Education or Training:

Appropriate on-the-job training will be provided by IT Services staff.

Salary Information:

This is a temporary position. New hires will be placed on the UA temporary salary schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
