Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, currently enrolled in 6 credits or more with the University of Alaska, & maintaining a 2.0 or above GPA to be considered for this position.
100The Student Services Assistant would assist the department with the following tasks:
1. Schedule appointments using electronic scheduling software.
2. Greet students and help them locate information or contact the appropriate office or person.
3. Answer phones, take messages, route calls appropriately.
4. Locate files, run unofficial transcripts from Banner, and prep materials for advisors.
5. Assist Financial Aid Officer with recordkeeping, faxing, reporting.
6. Assist with Journey (health & wellness) Program tasks.
7. Scan and index applications and forms into a document imaging system.
8. General office duties including filing, copying, faxing.Essential

Student workers may be asked to work days & evenings to include weekends depending on the needs of the department. Schedule will discussed at time of interview.

Sufficient education/experience to perform the responsibilities of the position and develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary.
|Required Education or Training:
Student employee positions require maintaining a minimum enrollment of 6 credit hours or more within the University of Alaska system and a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
This is a student employee position, with a starting pay rate of $11.34 hourly. Hours are limited to 20 per week maximum during instructional periods of the academic year.

Applicants must be at minimum 18 years of age to be considered due to FERPA regulations and the handling of confidential documents required of the position.
Students must maintain enrollment and regular attendance for a minimum of at least 6 undergraduate credit hours or 6 graduate credit hours to be exempt from FICA (Social Security and Medicare) tax. A credit hour load below the minimum required for full-time student status will require the withholding of FICA tax (non-resident aliens on an appropriate visa who meet student employment criteria will continue to be exempt from FICA regardless of credit hour load). While in a student position, a student cannot hold any other type of simultaneous employment with the university.
