The UAF, Northwest Campus is recruiting for a Program and Outreach Coordinator in Unalakleet!
Resources & Communications
Maintain records and files for registration, advising, financial aid; disseminate information to partners, students and colleagues regarding events, activities, opportunities.
Track student progress and provide academic advising, assist students with financial aid, registration and student support efforts.
Serve as information specialist and liaison withe partners regarding university efforts and initiatives. Assist in establishing goals and outcomes for courses and student services department.Essential
2-45Village Program Development:
Administer relevant program activities with responsibility for monitoring objectives, priorities, strategic plans and deadlines for projects.
Contact representatives of regional communities, local and regional governments and the university to identify problems, analyze needs, obtain and coordinate delivery of services, form partnerships and establish consortiums.
Follow up on course ideas suggested by community members; work with community entities to develop options for course delivery/development.
Serve on local, regional and statewide task forces to meet the emerging needs of CRCD and Northwest Campus. Serve on boards of regional agencies when appropriate.
In partnership with University of Alaska units and departments, expand access to academic and vocational programs for rural sites.
Village Academic and Vocational Program Development:
Identify, develop and maintain programs and courses to meet the regional needs of community partners.
Work with NWC Instructional Services department on syllabus development and adjunct faculty assignments.
Follow NWC and UAF procedures for organizing course elements, specifically tuition/class funding, instructor pay, partner responsibilities.
Work with adjunct instructors to ensure courses meet community needs.Essential
This position is located in Unalakleet, a 10-month position, providing academic advising and student support services. Travel and outreach responsibilities to identify, develop and maintain programs and courses to meet community and regional needs.
|Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
||Demonstrated ability to relate to students, potential students, as well as campus council members, regional stakeholders and partnering organizations.
Knowledge of financial aid, university system, student services programs and support.
Ability to develop and present information about programs and resources.
Minimum two years experience in student services field
|Required Education or Training:
Bachelor's Degree and two years experience in related fields, such as higher education, adult basic education/GED programs, vocational/technical programs, and/or workforce/career development programs, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
This is a full-time, 10-month, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, Grade 34_78, based on education and experience.
