Position Summary:

UAS is hiring a Student Services Assistant / Marketing Coordinator. This position is the primary point of contact for UAS. Full-time, 12 Month; Non-Exempt Position with excellent benefits. An associate’s degree or a combination of education and experience is required. Must have good organizational skills, strong interpersonal communication skills, and attention to detail. Must be reliable, courteous, diplomatic, and demonstrate successful experience working with others. Must be able to handle confidential material/information in a professional manner at all times. Data management and absolute dependence on accuracy. Strong computer skills along with self-motivation skills and the ability to follow through on complex assignments. Ability to design print, multimedia, web, and collateral material. Knowledge of techniques in writing, editing, formatting, composing, and producing written, web, graphic, and photographic material for news, public information, outreach, and marketing/advertising.

Duties:

10Enter registrations in Banner accurately and completely, serving as the primary registration staff. Registration includes drops, withdrawals and changes of status. Contact students regarding canceled courses, changes in meeting times and additional sections. Provide class lists, grading lists, student enrollment verification as needed to appropriate staff. Forward official records requests and changes to UAS-Juneau via scanning and indexing to OnBase.Essential
20Responsible for managing the scholarship application process including updating and posting applications, maintaining the FA Mailing list and online applications, receiving applications, establishing and supporting award committees, gathering materials for committees, sending award letters to students and notifying the financial aid office of recipients. Also maintains records of overall impact of individual scholarship program.Essential
30Assist the Student Services Manager in communicating with students (by mail, phone or online) about deadlines, programs or services. This includes but is not limited to, New Student Orientation, advising appointment reminder calls, progress checks and monitoring web site for needed updates. Creates written materials including web content, advertising/marketing products, flyers and event schedules. Proofreads, edits, layouts, and modifies documents and coordinates the printing, publishing and distribution process. Assists with the creation, development, and maintenance of Web and other electronic applications. Coordinates and/or assists with communication activities and events. Creates and maintains social media content.Essential
40Serve as the first and primary point of contact for campus in person, by phone, and e-mail including the ketch.info e-mail account. Greet, assist and explain processes for registration, admissions, payment and other activities for the campus with professionalism and service to students and the public as a core value. Maintain office security functions to include opening and closing access to the office. Utilize Banner, OnBase and website/internet to provide information and problem-solve individual student's requests. Schedule appointment for advisors and others as requested. Adheres to FERPA regulations and confidentiality procedures. Answers correspondence regarding University Requirements. Performs recruitment and outreach activities to attract students to UA system. Refers students to appropriate service centers. Uses judgement to provide appropriate assistance to students seeking appeals. Interprets and applies policies and procedures as appropriate. Assist with general office duties including copying, scanning, filing, shredding, and other office functions as requested.Essential

High level of communication abilities, communicate effectively in person and in writing, and knowledge of communication best practices.
Ability to design print, multimedia, web and collateral material.
Ability to use databases. Knowledge of techniques and industry standards relevant to position for writing, editing, formatting, composing, producing written, web, graphic, and photographic material for news, public information, outreach and marketing/advertising.
Typical Experience:
Two years of student services experience. Banner experience preferred.
Required Education or Training:

Associate degree and one year of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.

Bachelor degree preferred.

Salary Information:

This is a full-time, 12-month, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
