Position Summary:

UAF Community & Technical College Marketing Department is seeking a motivated and creative student to assist in developing social media strategies, content and maintaining a social media presence. Are you a social media enthusiast, who is innovative, self motivated, able to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team, if so, we are looking for you!

Duties:

100Carry out social media content assignments. Produce and cultivate creative content on multiple social media channels. Content will include student, class, and organization happenings, as well as helpful information relevant to CTC students and followers. Form of content will include writing, photos, video(recorded and live), and infographics. Monitor social media trends and tools, to include effective content and marketing to specific audience demographics. Engage with local community entities, organizations and partners through social media. Travel to various CTC locations in the Fairbanks area in order to provide diverse and encompassing content for CTC social media accounts. Utilize student perspective to assist in the design and content of outreach/marketing materials, including but not limited to: promotional branded items, CTC website, outreach booth, informational brochures, and events. Assist in other CTC Marketing office duties as assigned.Essential

The successful student will carry out assignments and propose interesting, creative content that represents UAF CTC as an organization that prepares Alaskans for a wide variety of Alaskan jobs. Content will include writing, photos, videos, and more. This position will have the opportunity to assist in other marketing department related projects including research, events, outreach, website content and miscellaneous office tasks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
UA student enrolled in 6 or more credits with 2.0 cumulative GPA or higher. 

Strong writing and communication skills.

Some photography skill and experience.

Eye for modern photography, video, and design.

Strong attention to detail.

Familiarity with trending social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat.

Ability and willingness to learn new software and technology as needed.

Ability to work independently when required.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

This is a Student Assistant 2 position; minimum starting pay is $12.00 per hour.

Student assistants are selected on a semester-by-semester contract basis. Successful acceptance into this pool does not guarantee an offer of a contract.

NOTICE: Students must maintain enrollment and regular attendance for a minimum of at least 6 undergraduate credit hours or 6 graduate credit hours to be exempt from FICA (Social Security and Medicare) tax. A credit hour load below the minimum required for full-time student status will require the withholding of FICA tax (non-resident aliens on an appropriate visa who meet student employment criteria will continue to be exempt from FICA regardless of credit hour load). While in a student position, a student cannot hold any other type of simultaneous employment with the university.
