Position Summary:

Duties:

100Provide specialized or technical assistance necessary to help develop today's students into tomorrow's workforce. Duties vary as specified by the program or department requirement.Essential

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

The successful applicants must have:

  • Knowledge of technical area of expertise.
  • Experience in subject area sufficient to perform the duties required by the department or program.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Computer and software application skills may be required. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work with students from diverse populations.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

Length of time and type of experience required varies to each UAF CTC program and is determined by the department head and program coordinator for that program.

Typically, 1 year technical experience required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:

Educational / vocational experience in subject area sufficient to perform the typical duties as required by department head and/or program coordinator of that subject area.

Some departments or programs require specific certifications or licenses are required in their fields.

An associate's degree in relevant field or the equivalent may be required.

UAF CTC maintains a pool of technical program assistants who provide the specialized or technical assistance necessary to help develop today's students into tomorrow's workforce.  Applicants selected from this pool must have the specialized knowledge, skills and abilities required for our various programs and departments to meet the educational and industry needs of their field.

This is a part time position with flexible hours.  Starting hourly rate is a Temp Grade 76, Step 1 ($18.18/hr).
