The Mat-Su College Fine Arts Department is seeking applicants willing to pose nude as a model for art classes that will be held during the spring 2022 semester.

This position is casual temporary (under 15 hours/week) employment. Typically, the assignment is set up for one semester at a time during our academic year to support the department during fall and spring instruction.

Position Expectations:

Art model(s) can be any body type and are expected to show up clean and tidy. The model(s) selected may provide props or use those at the college (such as a staff, umbrella, hats, etc.)

We ask the chosen art model(s) show professionalism and keep conversation to a minimum except when talking to the instructor or getting feedback about positioning.

The model should show or display flexibility in posing and ability to pose without distraction. It is a requirement for the model to be innovative with posing, showing creativity with the human form and facial expressions.

The model should be mindful of the lighting aspects and the viewing aspects for all participants to have an interesting viewpoint, especially when modeling "in the round." The model should be able to resume the pose after a break (with guidance from the students drawing or painting the subject).

Each model chosen is asked to show modesty and integrity whether on or off the stage during class.

Art models are expected to be prompt for class set up time; to exercise caution, and be aware of safety issues with props and staging.

It is imperative that each model is able to take directions well and to speak up about certain needs or concerns relative to holding position and time constraints.

Art models must have the ability to pose nude in graceful, inspiring, or physically challenging positions and be able to hold these positions for extended periods of time without moving.
