Position Summary:

UAA Student Health and Counseling Center is seeking a Health Promotion COVID-19 Specialist, a full-time, 40 hour per week, term funded position. This position will provide the UAA Community with COVID-19 vaccine promotion and education on mitigation strategies. The position will be a part of the Health Promotion Team. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Health Education, Health Science, Public Health, or related major. One year of experience in health promotion, health education, or related internship. To be eligible for this position, applicants must be legally authorized for unrestricted employment in the United States. No work visas will be sponsored for this position.

Duties:

10Reporting, tracking of expenses, and adhering to UAA purchasing guidelines.Essential
10Student Health and Counseling Center website and social media updates regarding COVID-19.Essential
80Develop, plan, organize, schedule, advertise, implement and evaluate UAA health promotion programs related to COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccination, as a member of the Health Promotion Team. Use evidence-based practices, primary prevention, environmental and behavioral change strategies in engaging UAA students as well as the UAA Community. Oversight and development of COVID-19 mitigation strategies and COVID-19 vaccination promotion on the UAA campus. Promote COVID-19 screening for students and UAA employees. Plan and coordinate COVID-19 and Influenza Clinics on UAA campus. Assist with vaccine clinics as needed and develop a strategy for second dose reminders. Conduct community sessions regarding COVID-19 and vaccine questions and concerns. Serve as a resource for evidence-based information surrounding COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccination. Conduct a UAA vaccine survey for students, staff, and faculty. Identify populations to focus on in vaccine campaigns.Essential

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Experience in planning and implementing educational programs and activities.
Ability to develop original training and health promotion materials.
Experience in public speaking.
Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in community building.
Experience with web and social media updates, evaluation software, MicroSoft Excel, Word, and Publisher.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

At least two years of experience in education, health and wellness programming preferred or related internship.

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Public Health, Health Education, Health Promotion, or closely related field of study.

This is a full-time, Grade 79, minimum $26.08/hr, DOE, 9-month position complete with a competitive salary and UA employee benefits package.

Term Position:

This position is a term-funded position and is reviewed annually for contract renewal at the University's discretion.
