The Department of Athletics at the University of Alaska Fairbanks is seeking applicants to fill the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer. The Alaska Nanook athletic program is a multidivisional member of the NCAA, with 10 teams competing at the Division I and Division II levels. This is a 10-month position located on the UAF campus.
35 Coordinate outside medical care with doctor(s) and athletes.
Provide athletic training services at practices and competitions.
Maintain medical records on each student-athlete.
Help manage insurance claims. Manage the selection, purchase, and inventory of training room supplies.

65 Athletic Trainer for Division I Hockey:
Administer the athletic training program to provide injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, referral for necessary medical care, rehabilitation. Essential
Sports medicine skills: injury evaluation and treatment & rehabilitation, including the use of therapeutic modalities, taping, bandaging, physical rehabilitation techniques, physical conditioning techniques
Emergency medical skills: injury evaluation and treatment, CPR, splinting, emergency transport, triage
OSHA regulations regarding management of blood and other bodily fluids
NCAA regulations regarding allowable medical coverage and student-athlete eligibility as it relates to injury and illness
4 years of intercollegiate experience or equivalent combination of training and experience. Hockey experience is preferred.
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
Bachelor's Degree in athletic training or equivalent field.
National Athletic Trainers Association Certification required. Master's Degree preferred
This is a full-time,
Grade 78, minimum $1,907.20 biweekly, DOE, 10-month position complete with a competitive salary and UA employee benefits package.
