Position Summary:

The Office of Sustainability is hiring student assistants. The Office of Sustainability is a student-funded and student-driven program. Student employees work both independently and together to implement sustainability-focused programming, maintain the UAF FreeStore, and run the Nanook Grown gardening program during the spring and summer. All positions require the ability to work independently and all employees may need to help in areas outside of their department on occasion.


Experience in a similar position and/or a background in sustainability is helpful, but not required.


Training is provided.

This is a Student Assistant C position; minimum starting pay $12.00 hourly.

Applicants must be enrolled as UAF students taking a minimum of 6 credits per semester with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or a newly enrolled student.

Review Date:

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year and students may apply for the position all year. When the department needs to fill a position, they review the current “pool” and call students for interviews. Students who were not hired for one position still remain in the pool for other positions.
