Seeking a Coordinator Assistant for the Health and Fitness Center at Prince William Sound College.
The Health & Fitness Center supports individuals with academic and fitness goals. It provides services for students, employees, and members of the community and is a hub for fitness activities in Valdez. As the assistant, you will be the first person individuals meet as they enter the facility. All duties must be completed with professionalism and a high degree of customer service. The coordinator assistant position comes with health and retirement benefits and competitive pay.
100 OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
- process registrations and payments at the front desk
-follow specific schedules and procedures for disinfecting and cleaning exercise equipment, bathrooms, floors, walls, windows, and all surfaces
-support the marketing efforts for Health & Fitness Center programs
-check-out and check-in rental equipment according to established procedures, including waxing skis and sanitizing boots
-encourage clients to follow posted rules and etiquette guidelines
-complete electronic and paper forms, documentation, and reports Essential
*Ability to handle cash, operate a credit card machine, and update the sales database
*Computer skills *Ability to follow specific schedules and procedures for disinfecting and cleaning exercise equipment, bathrooms, floors, walls, windows, and surfaces *Ability to market programs effectively *Ability to manage the gear inventory database. *Ability to provide effective and friendly customer service. *Ability to work effectively with diverse colleagues, and community partners *Ability to work independently with a minimum of direct supervision *Knowledge of the fitness industry preferred
*Customer service experience strongly preferred
*Some experience in cleaning and/or sanitation preferred * Cash handling experience is preferred.
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
High school education and one-year relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Bachelor's degree with coursework in Exercise and Health Science, Physical Education, Recreation, Public Health, Kinesiology, or another field that is related to the job responsibilities is strongly preferred. First Aid and/or CPR certifications preferred

This is a full-time, grade 76, minimum $21.48 (11% Geographic Differential)/hour, DOE, 12-month position complete with a competitive salary and a UA employee benefits package.
