The UAF Registrar's Office is recruiting for a talented, experienced Transfer Credit Manager who will lead two full time staff. This position is full time, year around complete with a competitive salary and a UA employee benefits package. 10 Research, compose, review and update publicly available information on transfer credit, whether on UAF website, UAOnline, UAF catalog, Advisor Manual, and in any publications. Maintain accurate data in Banner about transfer institutions. Research information on potentially fraudulent documents or institutions and provide information on such to Registrar Essential
15 Research, evaluate and determine appropriate credit equivalents for Alternative Ways to Earn Credit (AP, IB, DANTES, various certificates, and credentials), international transfer credit, student exchange programs, and articulation agreements. Essential
15 Work with the management team and the student data and systems staff to identify and implement process improvements. Act as project lead in the implementation of new transfer credit tools. This requires coordinating efforts between the Registrar’s office, OIT, and technology vendors for projects that can take months or up to a year to complete. Essential
20 Troubleshoot/problem-solve issues elevated for attention by transfer credit evaluators. Field any complaints about transfer credit and determine appropriate action. Take questions/disputes/requests for changes to transfer credit decisions made by evaluators, from students or advisors Essential
40 Supervise daily activities and performance of two full-time permanent, one full-time term funded transfer credit evaluators and potentially student workers. Under direction of the Registrar, set goals and expectations for staff; assess operations; determine most efficient organization & distribution of work assignments; prioritizing and assigning tasks; training, and evaluating performance. Serve as final quality control officer for all evaluations. Represent the Registrar’s office on committees and work-teams as needed Essential
Knowledge of complex interactive database system (preferably student system); ability to identify and recommend improved processes for efficiency; Ability to locate, learn and accurately interpret and apply academic rules and regulations. Knowledge of decision-making strategies and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead.
Three years previous or current experience working in higher education.
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

This position is a full-time, 40 hours per week, 12 months per year, salaried position at
Grade 79, $54,246.40 annual salary DOE complete with a competitive salary and UA employee benefits package.
