UAS Dining is looking for a motivated, customer service oriented Grill Student Assistants who will work as a team to create an inviting dining experience. Cleanliness, prompt and courteous service, and food preparation will be the core of this position. Applications will be reviewed starting February 26th, 2021..
Maintain a clean, inviting, and presentable presence within the common areas of the Lakeside Grill.
Complete food preparation tasks, and maintain fresh stock.
Frontline customer service person, including ringing in orders and communicating with cook staff.
Maintain an orderly retail area and create attractive displays.
Organize and ensure delivery orders are accurate.
Complete special projects, including but not limited to: Helping with inventory, detail kitchen cleaning, or purchasing.
Perform additional tasks, as required.
Attend staff training and meetings as directed by a supervisor.
Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 at time of application and throughout employment. Must possess the social skills to interact with students, faculty, and staff in a positive, approachable, and helpful manner. Must be able to complete tasks on time with little supervision, pay attention to detail, and follow strict cleaning procedures and schedules. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and have the physical capacity to move furniture and to exercise a wide range of locomotion skills for labor‐intensive cleaning tasks. Previous experience in cashiering, customer service, and operation of a point-of-sale register highly preferred.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as deemed necessary by business levels, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Expected term of employment is August
Hourly wage: $10.34/hr.
No minimum hours are guaranteed. Meal plan subsidy
Early move-in available for housing residents at the beginning of Fall semester for training

A credit hour load below the minimum required for full-time student status will require the withholding of FICA tax (non-resident aliens on an appropriate visa who meet student employment criteria will continue to be exempt from FICA regardless of credit hour load). While in a student position, a student cannot hold any other type of simultaneous employment with the university.
