Position Summary:

UAF is seeking a dynamic web developer to join the Enrollment Management Team! The Web Coordinator will organize, implement, manage projects and serve as the central web developer for enrollment management, collaborating closely with the web manager in University Relations. The Web Coordinator will work with Enrollment Management colleagues in the creation, design and production of webpages to reflect distinct voices and appeal to diverse audiences. The position also serves as support for the Enrollment Management communications team in a variety of capacities related to the execution of multichannel communications strategy.


25Web Design and Maintenance: Design, maintain and expand scale of enrollment related web pages. Consult with key enrollment staff to audit pages and ensure content is up to date, accurate and organized appropriately. Make recommendations and advise staff on needed changes to webpages and consult with web manager when appropriate. Troubleshoot and resolve website problems or issues as they arise. Retrofit older websites with responsive templates and usability updates. Design graphics and select, edit, crop and compress new photos for the UAF websites. Animate photos, graphics and other digital media for special web projects. Review major website changes with project managers, other web developers, designers and clients for comments and approval. Review website for broken links and outdated information and resolve issues.Essential
25Web development: Collaborate closely with enrollment management staff and university relations staff to develop specification, goals, deliverables and timelines for websites. Recommend and refine website specifications and requirements based on technical needs. Plan and develop website architectures, navigation schemes and page layouts using standard HTML/CSS best practices. Research emerging technology, software, programming languages and trends. Develop solutions for improving the usability and accessibility and multimedia engagements of UAF website. Write well-designed, testable, efficient web programming code using best practices. Integrate data from various types of databases into websites. Build web templates and apply branded design to third party and mobile applications or platforms. Implement web security protocols and updates to guard against online attacks such as website hacking. Develop and maintain HTML/CSS widgets in a dynamic customer-facing website portal UI environment. Coordinate with graphic designers to match visual design of print pieces for web. Evaluate whether websites comply with accessibility guidelines. Review and analyze web analytics data and conduct user testing of web design and usability, cross-browser and mobile compatibility. Analyze testing results, identify potential problems and recommend changes to resolve problems and inform web design strategies.Essential
50Communications support: Assist with multichannel campaign logistics including the creation and development of digital assets, such as HTML email templates, SMS templates, web forms, event planning tools. Draft and edit copy used in promotional materials. Select appropriate graphics and images to correspond with targeted messaging for a variety of audiences and initiatives. Participate in collaborative content review process. Perform data processing workflows and import/export customer data to and from multiple communications platforms and databases to support strategic communication to a variety of audiences. Build and configure software automations, reports and dashboards for a variety of internal users and campus partners. Serve as a secondary system administrator for Salesforce, Marketing Cloud and Signal Vine and as a point of contact for campus partners using those applications.Essential

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of strategic marketing, communication and public relations principles as well as design software. Experience in conceptualizing, developing, designing web content to reflect distinct voices and to appeal to different audiences. Demonstrate excellence in HTML, CSS and basic Javascript. Ability to provide copy editing and proofreading services when needed. Excellent command of English. Knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics. Understanding of web-based user experience best practices, for both browser and mobile environments. Strong organizational and time management skills; and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, with careful attention to detail. Preferred experience with OU Campus or similar, Marketing Cloud, Salesforce/visualforce and Salesforce web-to-lead forms. Preferred experience with copy writing or editing in a marketing context. Experience with EnrollmentRx, FormbuilderRx, EventsRx, or Salesforce EDA environment is a plus. Experience with coding languages such as SQL, Python or Apex is a plus.

Typical Experience:

Three years professional experience in a closely related field. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, customer service standards and ability to work and lead in a team environment. Technical knowledge of HTML and web publishing in a professional context.

Required Education or Training:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, computer science or other related area preferred; three years of full-time employment in marketing or communications; experience in web development; demonstrated proficient verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team; demonstrated attention to detail and instructions. Excellent desktop computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Powerpoint, Google Apps suite, and Adobe Creative Cloud suite, specifically for web-based content creation. Ability to work effectively under pressure of deadlines and multiple simultaneous.

This is a full-time, term-funded  Grade 78, minimum $23.84/hr, DOE, 12-month position complete with a competitive salary and UA employee benefits package.

Term Position:

This position is a term-funded position and is reviewed annually for contract renewal at the University's discretion.
