Position Summary: The Governance Office is seeking a Student Assistant to help with day to day office functions. This is a great opportunity for professional growth and provides the experience of working with confidential information, as well as working in a fast-paced office.
Duties:
100 Works under general direction. Exercises independent judgment and decision-making in developing new procedures or techniques. Examples of typical work will include: updating and maintaining websites and documents, scheduling meetings, assisting in coordinating governance meetings, and maintaining curriculum databases and spreadsheets. The position will assist the Governance Manager in supporting the Faculty Senate and Staff Council over the spring semester. Essential
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Must have attention to detail, possess organization skills, and be able to articulate and communicate effectively
• Must understand confidentiality
• Must be able to use Google Suite and Microsoft Office
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
Experience working in a fast-paced environment
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
Must be a degree seeking student at University of Alaska Fairbanks, taking a minimum of 6 credits per semester with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or a newly enrolled student.
