"Opportunities start here" is more than a slogan at Matanuska-Susitna College (Mat-Su College); it is our mission. Our aim is to transform student aspirations into realities. Matanuska-Susitna College seeks applicants who possess a desire to help students succeed in reaching their goals, particularly within the disciplines associated with payroll accounting.
In particular, the Mat-Su College is now recruiting qualified applicants for its pool of adjunct instructors in Payroll Accounting. Adjunct instructors are hired on a semester-by-semester appointment. Qualified applicants for this position will be placed into a hiring pool for the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 academic years from which instructors will be selected. Acceptance into the hiring pool does not constitute an offer of an appointment, nor does having worked one semester guarantee that a position will be available the following semester; hiring decisions are made on a semester-by-semester basis (including summer sessions), according to the needs of that semester's schedule, and the availability of those within the adjunct pool. Applicants should reside in the State of Alaska. No relocation expenses will be paid for adjunct instruction.
Mat-Su College is a community campus of the University of Alaska Anchorage. The campus is located on 951 acres in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, the fastest growing region of Alaska. We serve as a major higher education hub for Wasilla and Palmer, as well as for Anchorage and other nearby communities. Our student-friendly campus offers small class sizes and state-of-the-art facilities including, for example, our new 520-seat performing arts theater, the first of its kind in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley. The campus has an annual operating budget of nearly $11,000,000 and employs nearly one hundred full-time faculty and staff and more than one hundred adjunct instructors to serve approximately 2,000 students each semester.
