The WWAMI School of Medical Education is seeking applications for Adjunct Faculty.
About WWAMI School of Medical Education:
WWAMI is a cooperative arrangement between UAA, the University of Washington School of Medicine (UWSOM), and other states in the WWAMI consortium (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho); Alaskans are accepted into the program and receive their classroom phase of medical school at UAA.
Candidates must demonstrate willingness to contribute to multidisciplinary medical instruction in the laboratory, small group, and large group settings. Candidates who integrate Human Form and Function into their teaching and collaborate with other instructors.
Duties will include lab, classroom and small group instruction as defined by UWSOM, service on UWSOM and UAA committees.
Persons with expertise in several of the following areas are encouraged to apply:
- Human dissection skills
- Human neuroscience
- Facilitation of small group and case base learning activities.
- Supervision and facilitation of simulated medical cases.
- Development of medical curricula in collaboration with WWAMI Human Form and Function (HFF) faculty.
Successful acceptance into the adjunct pool does not guarantee an offer of an appointment nor does having worked one semester guarantee an offer of employment in the following semester. This is an adjunct labor pool and applicants are hired based on departmental need.
Experience teaching Human Biology and Human Anatomy and Physiology. Experience developing and implementing new course materials for anatomy instruction. Experience placing, receiving, and care of biological specimens and lab equipment orders.
A minimum of five years teaching within the UA system is preferred.
Masters or doctorate degree.
