The University of Alaska Southeast Development Office is accepting applications for a Development Officer & Annual Fund Manager position. We are looking for a leader with a strong professional demeanor and tact. 20% ANNUAL FUND / Marketing: - Responsible for the creation of content for mass appeals via multiple media (e.g. print, web/electronic, via social media, etc.) including but not limited to donor / beneficiary interviews, photos, story-telling, etc. This position serves as the annual giving liaison between UAS and the UA Foundation in the area of Annual Fund. 30% ANNUAL FUND/ Portfolio: - Manage a portfolio of individual, corporate and foundation donors with a giving history <$25,000 annually. Facilitate coordinated activity with overall UAS Development & Alumni Relations Office strategies to effectively identify, solicit, retain, and upgrade donors. Discover, cultivate and qualify donors for potential major gift capacity and interest. Work to strengthen annual giving, particularly among alumni.
Serve as the primary point of contact and relationship manager for those donors assigned in the portfolio with focus on donor retention, new gifts and advancing donors to higher levels of engagement. Pipeline major gift development and make recommendations for donors to be transferred to major gift portfolio. Oversee all aspects of the UAS annual giving program including the annual Faculty / Staff Campaign, Chancellor’s Giving Circle, etc. as well as all constituency-based appeals. 50% Development Officer
Manage a portfolio of donors in the $20,000-$50,000 range as assigned by the Director. Conduct frequent face-to-face visits with donors and prospective donors over the course of a year to lead to new, renewed or increased gifts. Conceptualize individual fundraising strategies to include prospect identification, discovery or qualification visits; cultivation plans; and solicitation of specific amounts. Work with multiple departments & campuses to provide private support for strategic goals and capital projects.
Represent the University to various community organizations and individuals to build relationships for future gifts.

Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, business, public administration or relevant field and two years of relevant experience; Or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Demonstrated experience of strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated experience with social media/marketing in a professional work environment
Master's degree in relevant field.
Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) certification preferred.
Experience working within a university or a non-profit development office.
Understanding of endowment funds and the awarding process for student scholarships.
Experience working with Alaskan economies and cultures.
Work experience showing successful interactions with peoples from diverse cultures and demographics.
Must possess excellent computer skills, including a proficient working knowledge in word processing, spreadsheets, database, internet, basic web design and desktop publishing software.
Must have the ability to get along with colleagues and maintain a positive and constructive attitude while solving problems.
Willingness and ability to travel and to work nights and weekends, as required.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
This is a full-time, 12-month,
