Position Summary:

The Program Assistant will co-lead 4-H after-school clubs and serve as a contact person for participants and families. In this position, you will guide and support 4-H members with club and project work.

Duties:

20OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES -Communicate with parents and team on sensitive matters. -Prepare correspondence and articles for the 4-H newsletter, online presence and local media. -Work with volunteers during club activities. -Participate in staff training and conferences. -Administer 4H registration using various means. -Data entry as needed.Essential
80PROGRAM DELIVERY -Conduct training using existing materials or provide assistance to others in the development and/or preparation of training courses or programs. -Maintain records and files relating to training and development activities within a program. -Assist with K-12 programming activities and events for school age participants. -Be familiar with existing 4-H curriculum and curriculum needs of rural communities. -Supervise members attending the program and promote safety and respect among all participants. -Daily delivery of the meal program, counts and reporting. -Maintain head count, collect and monitor member registration and fees. -Assist members with homework help.Essential

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Knowledge of training principles, equipment and materials.
Basic computer skills including MS Office, GoogleSuite, database entry, social media and internet navigation.
Ability to gather information for course/training development.
Communicate effectively.
Use small group facilitation tools.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Skilled at providing excellent customer service.
Excellent customer service skills.
Must be able to work evenings, weekends and flexible hours.
Ability to do a variety of activities like crafts, sewing, cooking, recreation, games, computer and art projects.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

6 months or more experience working with children grades K-12
6 months - one year office or administrative experience.
Cross-cultural experience

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:

High school diploma or GED
Complete 4H Leader training (post-hire)
CPR/First Aid Certification (current or within 30 days after hire)
Valid Driver’s License.

This is a full-time, Temp Grade 75, minimum $22.29 hourly. This is an open until filled recruitment with the initial application review taking place on October 8, 2020.
