Position Summary:

The UAF Center for Student Engagement's Marketing & Graphics team is looking for outgoing and creative students to help create a buzz around events on campus. Multiple students will be hired, Federal Workstudy students always welcome.

Duties:

10Give a favorable impression to the public in appearance and behavior; adapt to changes in workload; work independently with limited supervision and in cooperation with other employees; possess attention to detail/organizational skills, be able to multitask and handle difficult/stressful situations with diplomacy and finesse; enforce state laws and University regulations. 40Perform ongoing Social media updates for CSE (Center for Student Student Engagement) departments and other customers. Perform regular flyer/marketing distribution throughout campus. Provide face-to-face marketing for events (tabling) Work with CSE Graphics on promotion production support, including cutting, laminating, printing and other office duties.Essential
50Under the direction of the Graphics & Marketing Manager, student employees will do a variety of marketing support for CSE’s (Center for Student Engagement) programs and services. This will include distributing flyers, online marketing, social media, tabling, and other marketing activities to promote events. Creative and outgoing attitudes are a must! Marketing & Graphics student employees will work collaboratively with programming offices to provide new and innovative ways to reach UAF’s student population.Essential

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Knowledge on how to use a variety of social media applications including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat
Ability to work/collaborate with other students and departments to provide engaging marketing for events
Must be able to work with Google suite, Microsoft Suite, and Adobe Suite is a plus
Knowledge of campus events and CSE’s (Center for Student Engagement) programming offices
Ability to lift 20lbs
Must be skilled in working as a team.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

Marketing and/or graphics experience is preferred but not required

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:

None required

This is a Student Assistant C position; minimum starting pay is $10.50 per hour.

Applicants must be enrolled as UAF students taking a minimum of 6 credits per semester with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or a newly enrolled student.

Review Date:

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year and students may apply for the position all year. When the department needs to fill a position, they review the current “pool” and call students for interviews. Students who were not hired for one position still remain in the pool for other positions.
