Position Summary:

The position is for a project sponsored by the Alaska DOT&PF. The objective involves evaluating the illuminance of LED traffic lights, assessing its lifecycle, and developing a replacement strategy before they pose safety challenges.

The College of Engineering is seeking a dynamic student to work part-time to assist a P.I. with with grant/research related support duties. The successful candidate will work collaboratively and independently at times with a variety of responsibilities depending on current need. The successful candidate will need to display professionalism throughout the entirety of the assignment. The position is up to 20-hours per week during the Fall and Spring Semesters. Position pays $10.50 per hour.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Willingness to collect data at night as a part of a team
Experience working with DSLR cameras and (or) working experience with Photoshop or similar photo editing software programs will be an added advantage.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

No prior experience with illuminance meter is required. Experience working with DSLR cameras and (or) working experience with Photoshop or similar photo editing software programs will be an added advantage.

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:

Enrolled in at least 6 credits at UAA with a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Will need to successfully complete Title IX training.
