The UAA Accounting Services Department is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and dependable student to join the Accounting Services team as a Student Cashier. The successful applicant will have professional cash handling and customer service experience.
This position will assist the Accounting Services department with providing customer service to students, their parents, spouses or relatives, lenders, scholarship granters, and other UAA employees This position will also accept cash, check, and credit card payments and post those payments toward account balances.
High level of detail and accuracy in data entry
Excellent customer service skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite
Minimum of one year in a customer service role
Professional cash handling experience, including balancing a till
Hourly Rate of Pay: $10.50/Hour. Scheduled working hours are Monday-Friday between 8:30am-5:30pm, up to 20 hours per week.
NOTICE: Students must maintain enrollment and regular attendance for a minimum of at least 6 undergraduate credit hours or 6 graduate credit hours to be exempt from FICA (Social Security and Medicare) tax. A credit hour load below the minimum required for full-time student status will require the withholding of FICA tax (non-resident aliens on an appropriate visa who meet student employment criteria will continue to be exempt from FICA regardless of credit hour load). While in a student position, a student cannot hold any other type of simultaneous employment with the university.
