Position Summary:

A newly established lab in the Department of Veterinary Medicine is looking for a Research Technician. We are a cellular molecular biology lab that studies the role of endogenously produced gaseous molecules in inflammation both in vivo and in vitro models. We are seeking someone to provide technical research assistance, perform bench-level experiments, and assist in general lab organization.

A newly established lab in the Department of Veterinary Medicine is looking for a Research Technician. We are a cellular molecular biology lab that studies the role of endogenously produced gaseous molecules in inflammation both in vivo and in vitro models. We are seeking someone to provide technical research assistance, perform bench-level experiments, and assist in general lab organization.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of laboratory management, supplies ordering.

Skilled in the use of laboratory equipment. 

Maintaining cell lines, as well as contributing to the general lab organization.

Perform a variety of laboratory experiments using both routine and special techniques and methods including cell culture, RNA and DNA extraction, PCR, qRT-PCR, western blotting and immunohistochemistry is a plus.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Prism-GraphPad, EndNote and image J.

Knowledge of bioinformatics.

Ability to perform independently.

Experience mentoring students.

Training will be provided but experience in molecular and cellular lab is a plus.

Required Education or Training:

The required minimum qualifications is a BSc or more for this position.

Term Position:

This position is a term-funded position and is reviewed annually for contract renewal at the University's discretion.
