The Institute of Northern Engineering is seeking a talented researcher to work on a CO2 enhanced oil recovery project. The project is a multi-year research project with the possibility of extension. This position is a 9-month assignment.
100 The position is responsible for day-to-day supervision of the CO2 enhanced oil recovery project's progress, coordination of activities of team members, and preparing technical reports, manuscripts, and presentations. The position serves as Co-PI of the CO2 project and is also expected to serve as a Co-Advisor on graduate students thesis committees and hold regular meetings with the students. The CO-PI must have knowledge of geomechanics, over-pressure, and pore pressure. Essential
Knowledge of the petroleum industry. Knowledge of geomechanics, over-pressure and pore pressure prediction. Knowledge and expertise in economic evaluation and cost estimation. Knowledge and history of research on the Alaskan oil and gas fields.
Strong interpersonal, communication and science coordination skills.
Ph.D. and 5+ years of academic and research experience in higher education or equivalent experience in petroleum industry. Experience with project management. Demonstrated ability to work productively as a member of a small research team.. Ability to work independently using initiative and manage competing priorities.
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
Ph.D. in petroleum engineering or closely related field. 5+ years of experience in higher education or equivalent experience in the petroleum industry.
