Position Summary:

The Community & Technical College is seeking a dynamic student to work part-time and assist with Advertising and promoting Apprenticeship opportunities, and assisting in the recruitment of apprenticeship candidates for various occupations. Additionally the worker must develop and implement successful, cost effective strategies designed to reach a targeted demographic.

Duties:

The Community & Technical College is seeking a dynamic student to work part-time and assist with Advertising and promoting Apprenticeship opportunities, and assisting in the recruitment of apprenticeship candidates for various occupations. Additionally the worker must develop and implement successful, cost effective strategies designed to reach a targeted demographic.

To be eligible for student employment, an applicant must:
A) Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; or

B) Have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters; and

C) Have at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or approval from the MAU Senior Student Services officer of the Senior Student Services officer.

D) An applicant must provide evidence of enrollment as outlined above to substantiate employment eligibility.

Knowledge of basic computer software to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat). Ability to operate a variety of standard office machines.

Additionally the applicant must have good communication skills as this position interacts with students, staff, and faculty. Applicants must possess the ability work as part of a team, work independently, and follow direction. This person must be attentive to detail, have good follow-through skills, exercise good judgement and demonstrate problem solving skills.

Applicants must demonstrate experience with self-motivation and time management. Ability to work in a professional environment.

Previous experience in an office environment. Experience with handling confidential records. Accurate keyboarding skills, document preparation and email composition with proof-read skills necessary.

This is a pool position with multiple openings. Resumes will be reviewed on an as-needed basis starting immediately.
