The Office of Admissions is looking for an exceptional, energetic customer service professional to join our team. This position will serve as a primary point of contact and provide guidance and assistance for admissions questions — ranging from recruitment, application processing to orientation.
10 Administrative support: Provide administrative support to the office of admissions. Receive and process payments from students in-person or over the phone. Make follow-up phone calls to receive payment on faxed applications. Provide support for Inside Out campus preview day, New Student Orientation, the Tanana Valley Fair and other events as assigned. Assist with event logistics and planning. 20 Application processing support: Assist Admissions Coordinators with application processing by uploading transcripts, test scores, and supplemental documents. 70 Customer service: This position will serve as a primary point of contact for students, the public, and internal stakeholders to establish positive college relationships. Serve with an enthusiastic, courteous, and professional manner. Help students with a wide variety of Admissions and University related questions. Receive and accurately process or re-route Admissions concerns and requests. Provide guidance and assistance for admissions questions — ranging from recruitment, application processing to orientation. Answer questions and direct students to appropriate staff/departments. Reduce student-run around through point of contact decision making authority and assisting with general inquiries. Assist with other departmental communication.
Telephone/In-person customer service: This position serves as a primary point of contact for a high volume of phone calls and walk-ins each day. Determine the most appropriate course of action based on the client’s needs. This position requires a broad knowledge of UAF, with more in-depth knowledge of Admissions recruitment, processing, communication, and new student orientation. Log correspondence in Salesforce. Ensure FERPA compliance on all communication regarding student information.

Education and training:
One year of education at a university or community college.
One to two years’ experience providing professional level customer service is required for this position. Experience should have prepared candidate to provide excellent customer service, make sound judgment calls, analyze and solve problems, deal with large volume of inquiries.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Knowledge of customer service best practices and procedures. Ability to prepare various correspondence and effectively provide verbal and written communication to prospective students, community members, staff, faculty and administrators. Analytical research and problem-solving skills.
This is a full-time,
Grade 76 ($19.15/hour minimum), 12-month position complete with a competitive salary and UA employee benefits package.
